Dawn Woodle learned her first embroidery stitches as a very young child and continued to enjoy stitching throughout her teens and early adult years.
She became a serious student of all forms of embroidery after joining the Embroiderer's Guild of America in 1985 and has honed her skills over the past 30+ years.
Saturday, 9 am to noon, 1:30 pm to 4:30 pm
Instructor: Dawn Woodle
Advanced Beginner Level
Explore the art of hand embroidery through an over-view of embroidery forms and techniques. Learn some of the common stitches of embroidery and the creative application of stitch for the embellishment of fabric. Try your hand with a variety of the latest threads and materials on the market today.
Students who have acquired some basic knowledge of simple hand embroidery, and who enjoy working with a needle and thread, will find new ways to expand their creativity while bringing a new finesse to their work. This is a class in technique and imagination, with no required project to complete. Students will be encouraged to just relax and enjoy the process.
Students are invited to bring any personal embroidery tools they may wish to use in class, as well as smaller examples or photos of personal embroidery they would like to share with the group.
