Are you an expert in a fiber art? Do you like to share your expertise by explaining and demonstrating how to do what you do? If the answer to both of these is “yes,” and you enjoy teaching, we would like you to consider teaching at Fiber ArtsFest in Huntingdon, PA, on September 29 and/or 30, 2023.
Location/Vendor Fair
Huntingdon is located in central Pennsylvania, 30 miles south of State College and sixty miles west of Harrisburg. A Fiber Market Place will operate all day on Saturday, September 30, at the Huntingdon County Fairgrounds, and we also welcome your participation as a vendor offering fiber arts goods, materials, and finished products.
Deadline
The deadline for teacher submissions is February 28, 2023.
Class Options
The Fiber ArtsFest Committee plans to offer half-, one-, and two-day classes in a variety of techniques and proficiency levels on Friday and Saturday, September 29 and/or 30. Classes in any fiber art technique are welcome—quilting, knitting, crocheting, spinning, weaving, wearable art, embroidery, beading, lace making, rug hooking, and related fields. The classes proposed must be the teacher’s own concept, development of a design such as that adapted from historic works, or a variation of one that the teacher has previously taught. We request that the project not be taught in the immediate region of central Pennsylvania for sixty days before or after the Fiber ArtsFest. We encourage you to submit several proposals for each class length for which you would like to be considered so the Fiber ArtsFest Committee has adequate choices.
Teaching Fee
Our normal teacher pay if $75 per half day class and $150 for a full day class.
We will consider other arrangements.
